Raising awareness for Dementia Friendly communities

Last month, on the 19th December, Sussex Elderly Care hosted a cheese & wine Christmas get-together and a Dementia Friends session at Seaford’s St James Trust. The Dementia Friends session was delivered by Ina Sutton, a Dementia Champion. We were also grateful that Liberal Democrat MP Norman Baker was there in supporting Dementia Friends and Dementia Friendly Communities.
At Sussex Elderly Care we promote a personalised service helping elderly people find a solution to their needs and concerns. We are working with a local group to set up a Dementia Alliance in Peacehaven and Newhaven. Our aim is to eventually set up a Dementia Alliance group in Seaford. We are also working with local businesses to raise awareness and understanding of people living with dementia and to support Seaford in becoming a Dementia Friendly town. We support elderly people to remain living independently with support in their own communities and to achieve a better quality of life.
We welcome local businesses to support us achieve this aim. Contact us to arrange for a Dementia Friends session in your organisation.
